Ah, summer in Montreal. It’s what keeps us going through almost six months of winter – and it wouldn’t be half as fun without these incredible festivals to keep us eating, dancing, drinking and singing our way through those gloriously hot summer days. So book your CorporateStays.com apartment now and start dreaming about these unmissable events!

Fireworks: The biggest fireworks competition of its kind in the world, you’ll be rendered speechless by the Montreal International Fireworks Competition, which has been going strong since 1985 and remains one of this city’s top attractions starting on June 28 and taking place most Saturdays and Wednesdays until August 2nd. Favourite viewing spots are on or under the Jacques Cartier bridge and by the clocktower beach in Old Port. Bring a radio or phone with radio app – the incredible displays are timed to music, which goes out live on 105.7FM

Comedy: Probably the most famous of all Montreal festivals, the Just for Laughs comedy Festival in July attracts almost 2 million visitors every year – as much for the free attractions, food trucks, and great atmosphere as for the comedy shows themselves. Buy the festival pass for access to galas, stand-up shows, and late-night gatherings, or just wander around Place des Spectacles, where there’s usually a rocking music, dance, or acrobatics show in full swing!

Music: There are so many music festivals to choose from in Montreal during the summer months, including the all-French Francofolies (happening now!), followed by the Jazz (and so much more) festival in late June; the unbeatable African Nights in July, and the Blues Festin August, as well as a pile of smaller chamber music , folk music and good old pop festivals.
