It’s Halloween Weekend! The boils and ghouls may not be trick or treating until next Tuesday, but for the grown-ups, Halloweekend is upon us.
Are you out of town this weekend? Or are you still undecided as how to spend the weekend? Not to worry; Corporate Stays has some top picks for the best Halloween Weekend activities in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver!
Halloween Weekend in Montreal
Petrifying Party: Montreal has a well-deserved reputation as Canada’s party city. La Belle Province’s biggest city is not going to disappoint this weekend, with multiple Halloween parties. One of the most buzzed-about events this year is Joverse’s Halloween party. The supper club is hosting a Game of Thrones-themed Halloween party going on all weekend, with drink specials and costume contests.
Spooky Stuff: Malefycia is back in Montreal with “Malefycia III – Clinik Angus.” This haunted house has moved from the Peel Basin to Rosemont this year and is just as terrifying as ever. Brace yourself for the nearly hour-long experience in this haunted house, where the actors are allowed to touch you. This 18+ adventure is not for the faint of heart, so if you’re feeling up to it, grab your bravest friend, and get ready to scream!
Family-Friendly Frights: For something more fun with the little ones, the Montreal Botanical Gardens is hosting its annual Great Pumpkin Ball. The gardens are decorated with beautiful pumpkins and squashes throughout. There are also plenty of activities for the young ones to enjoy, including pumpkin, decorating, and carving.
Halloween Weekend in Toronto
Petrifying Party: Among many Torontonian Halloween parties, one tends to stand out year after year. Once again, the Steam Whistle Brewery will be transforming into the Scream Whistle Brewery. This is the 16th year of the famous party and it is running both Friday and Saturday nights. Enjoy Steam Whistle’s finely crafted beers, brewed on-site, and dance the night away. There are still some tickets left; get yours here!
Spooky Stuff: Screemers is celebrating its 25th anniversary with another edition of fresh scares. This year’s newest attraction is the “Zombie Prison,” and old favorites have been updated to keep visitors screaming for more. Howl at the 3D “House of Cards” attraction, and get lost in the “Field of Screams.” Need a break from the horror? Feel free to stop in at the Vampire Lounge for a drink. Don’t worry, it’s not blood…. we think.
Family-Friendly Frights: Bring the whole family down for the Beach Village’s Halloween on Queen! This fun afternoon includes inflatable attractions, live music, arts and crafts, Halloween-themed games, and a costume contest. We mean it when we say the whole family; the costume contest includes pets!
Halloween Weekend in Vancouver
Petrifying Party: There are still a few tickets left to the Halloween Costume Ball. This event, hosted at the Telus World of Science, is in its 11th year. Guests dress to impress at this massive event which hosts up to 1,100 attendees. This year’s edition features two floors, six DJs and lives performers, and five fully-stocked bars. This isn’t only one of the best Halloween parties in Vancouver, it is one of the best parties of the year.
Spooky Stuff: Playland at the PNE got a makeover, and it’s pretty scary. Fright Nights is back again for 2017 and now has some brand new rides and attractions. “The Bloodshed” is the newest of 8 haunted houses, all of which feature some detailed backstories. If you need a break from the horror, find a different kind of thrill on one of the 20 amusement park rides!
Family-Friendly Frights: Take the family for an eerie but cheery ride on the Ghost Train in Stanley Park. The Matinee events are better for younger ones and are less expensive. This is because they come without some of the lighting, live actors, and darkness that makes the night train spookier. The night train is great for older kids and will serve up some genuine frights and delights.
