Looking for the alpine experience without the hefty pricetag? Mont Tremblant is a picturesque, pedestrian-only village located 90 minutes north of Montreal in the ethereal Laurentian Mountains. The location of the village means that in summer you can stop off for golf, tennis, and  zip-lining, while in Winter, you get some world-class snowshoeing, skating, snowboarding, and skiing.

This fun-filled resort also hosts a number of exciting events during the year. The championship boarder-cross races and gear demo events are a ski junkie’s paradise, and Spring Break parties let college students from Ontario, Quebec, and across the border blow off some steam. The beats, drinks, and eats are world-class, and the hills are some of the best in Canada.

Hit the Hills
If you haven’t been, you have to hit the hills of Mont Tremblant on a board or pair of skis. Need an equipment rental? There’s plenty to go around, and the 96 trails, 3 board parks, and 14 lifts will have you traveling over the entire mountain for the whole day. Unreal Cross-Country trails and ski-in/ski-out access to the village makes it easy to grab a quick bite to eat before your next ride to the summit. If you need your  board waxed, no problem! The village has a tune-up shop ready to tighten up bindings and get you ready to tackle the mountain with your gear in tip-top shape.

Take a Hike
The Summer months open up some of the ski hill’s terrain for hiking. Mont Tremblant has 11 astounding trails that vary in degree of difficulty and duration, so those looking for a quick uphill climb can be back at their car and leaving within an hour while seasoned hikers will love the two-hour hikes that traverse steep inclines, challenging terrain, and an observation tower with a 360 degree view at the summit.

Enroll in the Golf Academy
The warmer months also welcome golfers from all over the country to visit Le Diable and get pointers on their game from CPGA instructors at the golf academy. You’ll need all of the help you can get in order to tackle Golf Tremblant. While the golf academy can help golfers with its 68 driving range slots and a putting boot camp, Le Diable and Le Geant, the two professional 18-Hole courses on the edge of the village, will offer up a challenging golf game as well as scenic mountain- filled horizons. FORE!

The Caribou Cup
At Winter’s end, the Caribou Cup sees skiers and snowboarders race down the hill and see how far they can make it across the pool at the bottom. A fun event with tons of bloopers and triumphant finishes, this downhill stunt comp is a fun way to close out the ski/snowboard season.

Spring Break, Baby!
College kids from Ontario, the US, and Quebec have their Spring Break celebrations up in the village with pumping music, board park antics, tubing, and tons of other entertainment. Parties dot the whole base of the mountain, and at night, everyone gets amped up while carrying on the festivities at one of many clubs and bars. A great way to let loose after a long semester of hard work!

For the Kids
Children are also more than welcome to hit the slopes with parents, take up lessons, or celebrate Easter. The end of March lets kids under 12 take over. The Burton El Nino is a one-day event where children who have an interest in freestyle snowboarding can learn new skills, practice their technique, and compete against other kids while turning out tricks for the judges. As for Easter, Mont Tremblant hosts a huge Easter celebration for children and their families that includes an Easter egg hunt, crafts, face-painting, and other fun activities in the heart of the village.

If there was ever a mountain to visit when you’re in Quebec, make it Mont Tremblant. The log cabins make for picture perfect accommodation, and the variety of eateries,  pubs and clubs make the village glisten in the night. If you’re a Summer-lover, hold off and do a bit of golfing and light mountaineering, and stick around for some of the most beautiful sunsets you could imagine. You’ll want to come back year after year.
