As one of the culinary capitals of the world, Paris is a dream for any gourmand. Here are just a few of the amazing restaurants in the City of Light.

Le Bistrot Paul Bert

Hailed as the best bistro in Paris, Paul Bert is tucked away in the 11th arrondissement. From the old-school interior with tiled and parquet flooring, leather banquettes, and chalkboard menus, every detail is authentic. The traditional menu is seasonally-minded, featuring classic French comfort foods and an incredible cheese board. With a solid wine menu and reasonable prices, it’s no wonder Paul Bert keeps people coming back.

Monsieur Bleu

Tucked away in the Palais de Tokyo, Monsieur Bleu serves up modern brasserie fare in a luxe space perfect for people watching. The real draw here, however, is the view — the outdoor patio sits just across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower.

Breizh Café

Breizh Café, the Marais outpost of a restaurant in Brittany, is not your average crêperie. With its modern wood-paneled interior and a menu of 15 artisanal ciders, Breizh Café offers gourmet plates that don’t break the bank. The freshly shucked oysters are a worthy splurge, or try one of their signature buckwheat galettes and crêpes — we recommend the Cancalaise, filled with smoked herring, crème fraîche, and herring roe.

Clamato

Right next door to Michelin-starred chef Bertrand Grébaut and Théo Pourriat’s famed Septime is Clamato, the duo’s seafood tapas bar. Arrive early to snag a table at this no-reservations local favorite, and order a rosemary gin and tonic to accompany your oysters. The sharing-plates menu, which changes daily, is modern and refined to match the relaxed-chic décor. For dessert, don’t miss the maple syrup tart with Chantilly cream.

La Gazzetta

Swedish chef Petter Nilsson’s innovative daily tasting menus are making La Gazzetta the hippest new spot in the 12th arrondissement. Nilsson’s ambitious Nordic-inspired menu features unique flavour combinations, such as a goat’s milk and kumquat ravioli with crabmeat and spinach. La Gazzetta manages to be vibrant, but relaxed, and elegant, yet affordable, proving its popularity to be well-deserved.
