So you feel like you’ve seen everything there is to see on the island of Montreal? Fear not – there’s a whole world of wonder waiting for you outside the Montreal suburbs, much of it accessible by bus and train, if you don’t have a car at your disposal. So choose one of our luxury apartments as a base, and then get out and explore!

Mont Tremblant: Nestled in the beautiful Laurentian Mountains, but just 1.5 hours from Montreal by car, Mont Tremblant is not only a picturesque village, but a great jumping-off point for activities like zip lining, bungee jumping, skiing, golfing, and mountain biking.

The Eastern Townships: About an hour from Montreal, this peaceful region on the border with Vermont and New Hampshire is all rolling hills, lakes and villages, where you can find snippets of Quebec history and culture. It’s a great option for foodies, with local specialities such as hare and duck, artisanal butter and cheese, and wonderful heirloom vegetables available at markets and restaurants across the region.

Ottawa: A little farther away at 2.5 hours, but still doable as a day trip if you wake up early enough! Ottawa is often forgotten by visitors to Canada’s more ‘cosmopolitan’ and ‘cultural’ destinations, but it’s a gorgeous city that’s got everything in walking distance – you can wander by the Rideau Canal, see the changing of the guards at Parliament Hill, and check out some of the great museums and galleries, all in one day!
